Crop an image in Photoshop
Sometimes we will need to crop an image to remove unwanted distractions at the edge of an image, or to adjust the image following the Straighten adjustment. Here, we will crop an image using Photoshop, but the steps should be relatively the same using any popular image editing software.
Open a copy of the image for cropping. (When performing an permanent change like this, it's best to use a copy). This image was taken in the upright (portrait) format, and we want to crop to a landscape format and make the ducks on the water the focal point.
Click the 'Rectangular Marquee tool'
and select a rectangular area inside the image to mark where we want to crop it.

Move the selected area if necessary by dragging a handle or clicking inside the selection and moving the mouse.
Select Image > Crop to crop the image and view our newly framed photograph.
This same technique can be used to remove unwanted items at the edge of the frame or to even make a stronger composition. Remember to save it and we are done.
The finished image can be seen below.
