Remove Red Eye in Photoshop
Red eye is the dreaded “devilish” look inflicted on our loved ones while taking flash photography and can ruin a good photograph.
This image on the left is the one that we will correct in this tutorial.
First, we need to open the image into our favourite image editing software. For this tutorial, I will be using Photoshop. Some of the steps may be slightly different if you use a different image editing software - consult the help file (press F1) if in doubt.
Next, click on the Red Eye Removal tool.
In Photoshop, this is found in the Vertical Tool Bar among the Healing Brush tools. (Left click and all the tools appear, then click the Red Eye Tool).
Move the mouse cursor over the red in one of the affected eyes and Left Click. If the results are not perfect first time, try adjusting the 'Pupil Size' and 'Darken' amounts along the Options bar at the top of the screen.
And remember, if you make an adjustment that's not to your liking, pressing CTRL + Z will undo the last change. (This can also be undone using the 'Edit' menu in the toolbar at the top of the screen).
The image to the right shows the fixed photograph - all "angelic" looking again. Simply save the image and your all done!
